Appointing a Voluntary Administrator

Director Penalty Notices Video

If you’ve received a Director Penalty Notice and it’s not possible to enter into an instalment arrangement with the ATO, or you’re unable to pay the debt in full, you must consider appointing a Voluntary Administrator.

To avoid personal liability, you must appoint a Voluntary Administrator within the 21 days of the date on the Director Penalty Notice.

Merely meeting with an administrator or advising the ATO that you intend to make such an appointment is not sufficient to avoid liability.

The Insolvency Experts have a great resource on Voluntary administration that will answer a lot of your questions. Alternatively, you can call us and we will provide you with free advice that is relevant to your specific situation.
